Symptoms of the Menopause

What! How Many Symptoms Are There?

The only two things I knew about the menopause were hot flushes and vaginal dryness, so when I hit peri-menopause at the age of 47 I was shocked to find that there are over 30 symptoms related to the menopause.

I was soon to find out that hot flushes were the least of my problems. In fact my clients and members agree with me and they list the following as their top three:

  1. Weight Gain
  2. Tiredness and Exhaustion
  3. Headaches/Migraines

The other symptoms of the menopause are:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Panic Attacks
  • Itchy Skin
  • Hair Loss
  • Dry Skin
  • Muscle and Joint Aches
  • Heart Palpitations
  • Digestive Problems
  • Dizziness
  • Vaginal Dryness
  • Hot Flushes
  • Night Sweats
  • Memory Loss
  • Brain Fog
  • Insomnia
  • Low Libido
  • Moods Swings
  • Menstrual Cycle Changes
  • Breast Pain
  • Odor Changes
  • Bloating
  • Incontinence
  • Sensitive/Allergies
  • Electric Shocks
  • Problems with Gums
  • Burning Tongue
  • Brittle Bones
  • Feeling more irritable

Phew thats a lot of symptoms! You may not get all these symptoms, you may get some or you may experience them at differing times. Just know that what is happening is natural and happens to every woman. Some women may have more of a difficult time than others. However, each menopausal journey is different for each woman and is all down to fluctuations in her hormone levels.
